In 1892, Vargas Diaz (Danny Trejo, Machete), the brutal boss of a dusty Mexican village looted the tomb of an Aztec goddess. More than a century later, the many that died at Diaz’s hands cannot rest and yearly, on all soul’s day, demand human sacrifices. Today the town of Santa Bonita is a ghost town overseen by a sheriff with a shady past (David Keith, An Officer and a Gentlemen), and those who stumble upon the village never leave. A young couple, Tyler (Laz Alonzo, Avatar) and Erica (Nichole Hiltz, In Plain Sight) are unfortunate enough to get stranded there and discover the town’s secret history. The only way to save themselves and give the dead rest lies with the town’s few living inhabitants: the dodgy sheriff and the inn-keeper, Martia (Laura Harring, Mulholland Dr).
